The Amarone Antonio Castagnedi from Tenuta Sant'Antonio is made from Corvina grapes (70%), Rondinella (20%), Croatina (5%), and Osoleta (5%). The vineyards are located on sandy-silt soils rich in gravel, at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, the grapes were allowed to dry for up to 3 months before being processed for fermentation, which took place in stainless steel for a period of 25 days. The aging occurred for 24 months in new 500-liter French oak tonneaux.
AMARONE ANTONIO CASTAGNEDI SANT'ANTONIO: TASTING
The Amarone Antonio Castagnedi from Tenuta Sant'Antonio presents itself in the glass with a ruby red color and garnet reflections. On the nose, it reveals overwhelming aromas of small red fruits in jam intertwined with balsamic notes and underbrush. Completing the olfactory picture are warm notes of cocoa and oriental spices. The palate is enveloping and powerful, enhanced by a velvety tannic structure and a robust body enriched by a clear minerality that lingers in the long fruity and spicy finish. Excellent as a meditation wine, it pairs well with aged cheeses and sumptuous meat-based recipes featuring red meats or game.
Estimated between Tuesday 6 May and Monday 12 May.
